_vote08blog12.jpgneeds to be honest with you. The presidential race is the only contest we really care about.

But we realize with March Madness in full swing we need to do a college basketball tourney post.

So, after the jump, find out if Barack Obama’s - & any other candidates(?) - NCAA tourney bracket comes close to yours!

(pic above is from his high school yearbook picture - & yes, you can get a t-shirt with that pic on it, believe it or not)

Here’s his final four:

  • East - North Carolina.
  • Midwest - Kansas.
  • South - Pittsburgh.
  • West - U.C.L.A.
  • Championship game: North Carolina over U.C.L.A.

The New York Times blog offers some analysis into what these picks mean, you know, politically. NewsChannel 9 Backstretch Blogger & Sports reporter Heather Williams astutely points out, “you know, the North Carolina primary still hasn’t happened yet…”

Now, what about Hillary? No idea. No sign of a bracket anywhere we looked.

UPDATE: The LA Times says Clinton said she’d consult with her husband, who said “we’ll take a pass.”

mccainbracket.jpg & John McCain? Well, he’s making his pics available on his website , but it requires a sign-up, & frankly we’d just as soon not sign up with any campaign because we don’t want to be deluged with e-mails asking for money. Anyone want to volunteer? I promise I’ll post the bracket here if you do!

UPDATE: MSNBC’s “First Read” blog has his final 4 picks. McCain also picks UNC to win it all.
